Woodford County High School for Girls Presents: The Tempest
We are delighted to invite our school community to this year's major production,
A tale of magic, forgiveness, revenge and redemption, The Tempest follows the exiled Prospero as he uses his powers to conjure a great storm and bring his enemies to the mysterious island he now calls home. Filled with unforgettable characters, moments of humour, wonder and spectacle, Shakespeare's final play remains one of his most imaginative and enduring works.
This production is particularly special as it involves over 300 students from across the school. From performers, musicians and dancers to technicians, narrators, stage crew and production teams, pupils from Years 7–13 have contributed their talents, creativity and commitment to bringing this ambitious project to life.
At Woodford County, we believe that the arts play a vital role in a young person's education. Productions such as The Tempest help our students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, communication skills and creativity, while providing opportunities to build friendships, discover new talents and create lasting memories. These experiences are every bit as important as those that take place in the classroom and are a key part of what makes our school community so special.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our students and staff throughout the rehearsal process and would love as many members of our community as possible to come and support them. Whether your child is involved in the production or not, we warmly encourage you to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening of theatre.
Ticket prices have been kept deliberately low to ensure that the production remains accessible to all. Income from ticket sales will help support the continued development of the arts at Woodford County High School for Girls and contribute towards future productions, performances and creative opportunities for our students.
Thank you for supporting the arts and helping us continue to provide these enriching experiences for our young people. We look forward to welcoming you to the island.
