Former students and staff joined the Woodford community on Friday 27 September to celebrate the school’s 94th birthday.
The traditional parade, service and cake were followed by activities including forensic detective work, large scale art installations, a murder mystery, and physical challenges off-site at an Outdoor Education Centre and a bowling alley. Four girls – on behalf of everyone at Woodford – walked round to Haven House Children’s Hospice, beside us on the High Road, to present a birthday gift from us to them. In addition to a cheque, (the proceeds of results of last year’s fund raising), they handed over slices of the school’s birthday cake, for hospice staff to enjoy with their coffee.
Woodford’s students often identify the School Birthday as a highlight of the year and the 94th seemed to be enjoyed by all concerned.
Many thanks
