ELIGIBILITY
Please note that the eligibility criteria change regularly. The information below is the most up-to-date available to us and may have superseded some of the details contained in the Pupil Premium policy.
You must apply for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium eligibility through your local authority. Please contact them, and not the school, should you require any help with this process or clarification on the bullet points below.
Free School Meals Eligibility
Children may be eligible for free school meals if their parents receive any of the following:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA)
- the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- an income-related employment and support allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) that as of 6 April 2010 does not exceed £16,190
- Universal Credit - Please view information on Universal Credit
- Working Tax Credit -during the four-week period immediately after your employment ceases, or after you start to work less than 16 hours per week, your children are entitled to free school lunches
Children who get any of the above benefits in their own right (ie they get benefits payments directly, instead of through a parent or guardian) can also get free school meals.
Pupil Premium Eligibility
Any child who falls into any of the following categories:
- was registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
- has been looked after for 1 day or more as recorded in the March 2014 children looked after data return
- has been adopted from care
- has left care under a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order
- has a parent currently serving in the armed forces, or who has served in the armed forces in the past five years
- is in receipt of a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme or War Pensions Scheme
