Required for September 2025, a well-qualified, skilled and creative Head of Music to lead the development of the subject in this lively and high-achieving girls’ selective school. Our Music Department attracts high levels of participation and plays an invaluable role in school life. We are committed to building the profile of the Arts in the school and seek an inspirational teacher who will boost recruitment to examination courses, showcase the diversity of musical talent here and actively involve all students in music making, fostering an enjoyment of participation and building confidence in composition and performance.
The teacher appointed to lead this department will have an inclusive vision for Music and the ability to direct choirs and conduct a variety of instrumental groups.
In its recent Ofsted inspection Quality of Education and Sixth Form Provision at Woodford were judged ‘outstanding’ (November 2022). WCHS encourages a wide range of extra-curricular activities and we provide a friendly working environment and offer established programmes of teacher induction and CPD.
